Eastern Towns (Riverhead, East Hampton, Shelter Island, Southampton, Southold):
Residents of the Eastern Towns can apply for a pistol permit through the Suffolk County Sheriff's Office in Riverhead. They are allowed to take the full 18-hour training course, which includes 2 hours of live fire practice.
